Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with mobility and transfer patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document patient care activities, including intake and output, in electronic health records (EHR) as required.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Communicate changes in patient conditions and report any concerns to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Foster a positive and respectful relationship with patients, families, and fellow team members.
Qualifications
- Current, active, and valid California CNA License.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Arrhythmia (ARRT) is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a long-term care facility, hospital, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as part of the regular schedule.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients when necessary.
