Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suction management, and patient monitoring
- Perform chairside duties including mixing dental materials, taking impressions, and placing rubber dams
- Manage sterilization protocols and maintain clinical inventory per OSHA standards
- Take and develop dental radiographs with digital imaging technology
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure optimal infection control protocols
- Provide patient education on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient flow efficiently
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent experience
- Current DANB certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- PA state radiology license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general/pediatric dentistry
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft practice management software
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Excellent communication skills with ability to reassure anxious patients
- CPR/BLS certification required
