Responsibilities
- Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring proper instrument delivery and patient comfort.
- Patient Management: Greet patients warmly, take vital signs, and prepare them for treatment to ensure a smooth experience.
- Radiography: Perform intraoral and extraoral X-rays accurately and adhere to safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Strictly follow OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization, disinfection, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate dental charts, update patient records, and assist with insurance claim processing.
- Lab Work: Prepare temporary crowns, take impressions, and perform other necessary laboratory tasks.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA or RDA) or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Licensure: Current CPR and BLS certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and digital imaging systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and education.
- Reliability: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict schedules.
