Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties including instrument transfer, suction management, and material preparation
- Capture and develop diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision
- Implement strict sterilization protocols for all instruments and equipment
- Manage patient scheduling, digital records, and insurance verification
- Provide post-operative care instructions and patient education
- Maintain sterile, organized operatory environments and inventory control
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification and X-ray license (CA state required)
- 2+ years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred
- Proficiency in digital radiography (Dexis, Schick) and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols (OSHA/CDC standards)
- Exceptional chairside manner and patient communication skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification (current or obtainable within 30 days)
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting program graduate preferred
