Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments with efficiency and professionalism.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, prepare them for procedures, and ensure their comfort throughout the visit.
- Clinical Procedures: Take and develop digital X-rays, perform intraoral photographs, and assist with impressions and impressions.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and treatment histories.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock dental supplies and equipment to ensure clinic readiness.
- Front Desk Support: Schedule appointments and process payments when necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.
- Certification: DANB Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent state licensure is a plus but not mandatory.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Tools: Proficiency with dental software and modern dental technology (e.g., digital radiography).
