Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist and hygienist during examinations and procedures using 4-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Perform and capture high-quality dental X-rays (radiographs) and digital images as directed.
- Explain treatment procedures and post-operative instructions to patients to ensure informed consent and understanding.
- Manage patient records, update dental charts accurately, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines at all times.
- Assist with front desk reception duties including greeting patients and answering phone inquiries.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Current North Carolina Dental Assistant license or DANB certification (RDA) is required.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and sterilization procedures.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and office equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- CPR/First Aid certification (BLS) preferred.
