Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Perform chairside support including instrument transfer, suction, and patient comfort measures
- Take and develop diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization of dental instruments
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for seamless clinical workflows
- Document patient information and maintain accurate digital records using Dentrix software
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene practices
Qualifications
- Accredited dental assistant program graduate or equivalent clinical experience
- Current Tennessee Dental Assistant Radiography License
- Certification in CPR and BLS (American Heart Association)
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and infection control standards
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Detail-oriented with excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
