Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including instrument preparation, suctioning, and patient comfort
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and safety
- Perform infection control protocols and sterilize equipment per OSHA standards
- Manage patient records using digital dental software (Epic experience preferred)
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and instruments for optimal efficiency
- Provide post-procedure instructions and chairside support to patients
- Coordinate scheduling and inventory management for dental supplies
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Proficiency with digital radiography and practice management software
- Excellent communication skills and ability to put patients at ease
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
