Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments while maintaining OSHA compliance protocols
- Take accurate dental radiographs and perform digital imaging tasks
- Manage patient charts and electronic health records using Dentrix software
- Provide chairside support with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide oxide monitoring
- Train new dental assistants on clinic protocols and equipment
Qualifications
- Current DANB certification or New Mexico Dental Assistant license
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards
- CPR/BLS certification from an accredited provider
- Exceptional communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Dentrix/Eaglesoft practice management software
