Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatments and procedures, ensuring comfort and proper positioning
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments using proper infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Manage patient records and digital charting systems accurately
- Sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness according to OSHA standards
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Order inventory and manage dental supplies efficiently
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification from accredited program (CODA or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general dental practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
- Excellent communication skills with ability to put patients at ease
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Valid Nevada state dental assistant license
