Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and process images for the dentist’s review.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating charts and confirming insurance information.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene practices.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program (or equivalent experience).
- Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA) or license to practice in North Carolina.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor tasks with precision.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
