Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of biological samples
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume or pediatric collections
- Collaborate with lab staff and physicians for special testing requirements
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in fast-paced settings
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
