Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize cases based on acuity using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Document clinical observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to ensure timely patient care
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding home care and follow-up procedures
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital safety protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and departmental training
Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (graduating 2023-2024 welcome)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (will provide training)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No prior nursing experience required – we train from the ground up!
