Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures, including instrument preparation and patient comfort
- Perform chairside duties: suctioning, retraction, and material handling
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) following safety protocols
- Manage sterilization and infection control for all instruments and equipment
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Document patient information and treatment notes accurately
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education
- Assist in scheduling and front desk operations as needed
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or radiology license in Virginia
- 1+ years of clinical dental assisting experience preferred
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft)
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and infection control standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
