Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, review medical histories, and explain dental procedures to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, passing instruments and providing suction.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and sanitize instruments and treatment areas according to OSHA guidelines.
- Digital Radiography: Perform and process intraoral and extraoral X-rays using our state-of-the-art digital systems.
- Record Keeping: Update patient charts accurately in our dental practice management software and prepare treatment plans.
- Lab Work: Fabricate temporary crowns, impressions, and bleaching trays as directed by the dentist.
- Front Desk Support: Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and patient billing inquiries when necessary.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification or state RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental setting is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited dental assisting program is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in using dental software (e.g., OpenDental, Eaglesoft) and dental handpieces.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Licensing: Valid CPR and BLS certification (Basic Life Support) for healthcare providers.
