Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and strictly adhere to infection control protocols (OSHA standards).
- Take and develop dental X-rays (including digital radiography) and intraoral photographs.
- Manage patient records accurately, update charts, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Process insurance claims and handle patient payments with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (CDA) or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Current state licensure and DANB certification (NRA) is preferred.
- Proven experience in chairside assisting within a general dentistry setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and infection control practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Current BLS (CPR) certification valid and in good standing.
