Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side support during examinations and treatments, ensuring smooth workflow.
- Patient Care: Comfort patients before, during, and after procedures, answering questions and explaining treatment plans.
- Diagnostics: Perform and process dental X-rays (radiographs) and take accurate impressions/models for crowns and bridges.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization protocols and ensure the operatory is clean and organized.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and treatment histories in our dental software.
- Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and assist in ordering dental materials as needed.
- Hygiene Support: Assist the hygienist with scaling, polishing, and periodontal charting when required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program; CDA (Certified Dental Assistant) or RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Licensure: Current radiology and local dental assisting license required.
- Skills: Proficient in 4-handed dentistry and understanding of dental anatomy and terminology.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Technical: Familiarity with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Professionalism: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
