Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, review their medical history, and prepare them for treatment to ensure comfort and safety.
- Diagnostic Support: Take and process dental X-rays (radiographs) accurately and in compliance with safety standards.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization protocols and cross-infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, update charts, and manage digital filing systems.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock dental supplies and equipment to prevent downtime during procedures.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Dental Assistant license in the State of New York.
- Certification: BLS/CPR certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and digital imaging systems.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, patient-oriented demeanor.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Dental Assistant diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
