Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist and hygienists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and chairside efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up trays, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Perform and process digital X-rays and intraoral images accurately and efficiently.
- Manage patient records, update charts, and handle insurance verification and billing inquiries.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene techniques in a friendly, professional manner.
- Order and maintain inventory of dental supplies and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent relevant experience.
- Current DANB or state Radiology and Infection Control certifications (RDA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and sterilization protocols (OSHA guidelines).
- Excellent communication skills with a warm, patient-centric demeanor.
- CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending and lifting.
