Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with instruments, materials, and equipment prior to dental procedures.
- Assist the dentist chairside during examinations, fillings, crown preparations, and root canals.
- Take and develop high-quality digital X-rays (panoramas, bitewings) and intraoral photographs.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
- Manage patient records, update charts, and handle insurance verification and billing.
- Coordinate with front desk staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Current California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or Dental Assistant with CA certification.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting patients or equipment.
- Proficiency with dental software and practice management systems is a plus.
