Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for treatment by greeting them, examining their oral health, and documenting medical history.
- Assist the dentist during procedures, ensuring the patient is comfortable and the equipment is ready.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital sensors.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
- Instruct patients on post-operative and general oral health care instructions.
- Manage dental inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Coordinate with front office staff to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Dental Assistant (RADT, DANB, or equivalent) required.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
- 1-3 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (e.g., lifting patients, handling instruments).
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license (for occasional patient transport, if applicable).
