Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before claim submission
- Resolve claim denials through effective follow-up and appeals processes
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Track accounts receivable and aging reports
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and insurance carriers
- Utilize Epic EMR and NextGen billing systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic/NextGen)
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
