Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations, treatments, and surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Preparation & Sterilization: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols.
- Diagnostics: Take and develop digital X-rays (radiographs) and perform oral cancer screenings as directed.
- Patient Care: Guide patients through the intake process, update medical histories, and provide post-operative instructions.
- Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and dental health topics.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order dental supplies and materials to ensure the office is well-stocked.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant certification or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Licensure: North Carolina Dental Assistant License.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and digital radiography is a plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting patients if necessary.
