Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, escort them to the operatory, and explain procedures to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety.
- Clinical Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques (suction, retractors, etc.).
- Digital Imaging: Capture high-quality digital X-rays (panoramic, periapical) and intraoral images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Rigorously maintain sterilization standards, manage instrument processing, and disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient treatments, charting, and medical histories into our dental practice management software.
- Material Management: Prepare and mix materials for impressions, sealants, and other dental treatments.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent experience.
- Licensure: Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification or state license.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first approach.
