Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations and treatments, ensuring the dentist has the necessary instruments and materials.
- Patient Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean, safe environment for all patients.
- Radiography: Take and develop dental X-rays under the supervision of the lead assistant or dentist.
- Patient Education: Explain post-procedure care instructions and oral hygiene techniques to patients in a friendly manner.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock dental supplies to ensure the practice runs efficiently.
- Administrative Support: Handle patient check-ins, update medical records, and manage insurance verification when needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Availability: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the dental schedule.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and assist patients of various sizes.
- Manual Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work with precision tools.
- Attitude: A positive attitude and a genuine interest in healthcare and patient care.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy is preferred but not mandatory.
