Responsibilities
- Patient Relations: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify personal and insurance information, and guide them through the intake process efficiently.
- Scheduling Coordination: Manage the appointment calendar, schedule new patients, reschedule appointments, and coordinate follow-up visits with medical providers.
- Communication Hub: Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, screen calls, take accurate messages, and transfer inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Administrative Accuracy: Process patient check-ins and check-outs, collect copays, and maintain accurate digital and physical records.
- Insurance Support: Assist patients with understanding their coverage and perform basic insurance verification tasks.
- Front Desk Operations: Maintain a clean and organized waiting area, restock supplies, and manage inventory.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a medical front-desk or administrative support role.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Medical Receptionist certification preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills with the ability to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical billing software quickly.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric and friendly demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and data privacy standards.
