Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Support dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and maintain a positive, calming environment.
- Clinical Procedures: Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs), perform coronal polishing, and place temporary fillings as directed.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization, disinfection, and safety protocols.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts and medical histories using our dental software.
- Front Desk Support: Manage appointment scheduling, patient recalls, and insurance verification (remote-friendly).
- Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and assist in ordering dental materials and equipment.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Louisiana State Board of Dentistry Dental Assistant license required.
- Certifications: Current CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience as a dental assistant preferred; new graduates welcome with externship experience.
- Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and radiography techniques.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a hybrid schedule and varying clinic demands.
