Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and proper positioning.
- Patient Care: Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) and impressions as directed by the dentist.
- Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, and materials for patient procedures.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterilization and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Administrative: Manage patient records, update charts, and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Education: Provide post-operative instructions and oral health education to patients and parents.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Louisiana Dental Assistant license or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated candidates.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software and modern dental equipment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a warm, patient demeanor.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
