Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and equipment to ensure efficiency.
- Take and develop accurate digital X-rays and intraoral photographs as directed.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
- Manage patient records, including updating dental histories and processing insurance claims.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage inventory and order dental supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program or equivalent certification (CDA/RDA).
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient comfort and clarity.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in dental software and digital radiography is preferred.
- Current Tennessee state licensure (if required).
