Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to strict safety protocols
- Manage sterilization and infection control procedures following OSHA and CDC guidelines
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for optimal efficiency
- Delieve patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate digital patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software
- Coordinate seamless patient flow between exam rooms and treatment areas
Qualifications
- Current Michigan Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations
- Exceptional chairside assisting skills for diverse dental procedures
- Excellent communication skills with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume practice
