Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and develop accurate diagnostic images
- Manage patient records using Dentrix/Eaglesoft software systems
- Provide chairside assistance with suctioning, material mixing, and instrument transfer
- Deliver post-operative instructions and ensure patient comfort throughout visits
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and inventory management for dental supplies
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current CPR/BLS certification and radiology license
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to ease patient anxiety
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
