Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist: Provide chair-side assistance during examinations and procedures, ensuring optimal workflow and patient safety at all times.
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, review medical histories, and explain treatment plans clearly to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
- Diagnostic Support: Take and develop intraoral and extraoral X-rays, as well as impressions for models and study casts.
- Infection Control: Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to strict OSHA and CDC protocols.
- Office Management: Manage dental records, update patient information, and assist with scheduling appointments efficiently.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Dental Assistant license or certification in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain).
- Radiography: Current Radiology certification (RDA) is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a general dentistry practice is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficient in 4-handed dentistry, dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix), and modern sterilization techniques.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a warm, friendly demeanor.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
