Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness, checking for drug interactions and contraindications.
- Prepare and package prescription medications according to legal and regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering and stocking pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist the pharmacist in compounding medications and managing the pharmacy's computer systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and insurance.
- Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent.
- Valid New York State Pharmacy Technician license.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
