Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately according to physicians' orders and state regulations.
- Verify the accuracy of prescriptions and check for potential drug interactions.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceuticals.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide basic counseling on usage and storage.
- Operate pharmacy software systems and manage point-of-sale transactions efficiently.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy policies and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible for registration with the California Board of Pharmacy.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management systems.
- Valid California driver's license is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
