Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and pharmaceutical supply ordering
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Assist in sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license
- PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Basic IV certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Proficient in pharmacy management systems (QS1, Omnicell, etc.)
