Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before each patient appointment.
- Assist the dentist chair-side during examinations and procedures with four-handed dentistry.
- Take and develop digital X-rays, impressions, and intraoral photographs.
- Manage patient check-in processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle billing inquiries.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and OSHA safety standards.
- Provide post-operative instructions and educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Coordinate with the front office team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (CDA) or graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Valid Arizona State Dental Assistant license.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient comfort and empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor tasks with precision.
- Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) is a plus.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
