Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper lifting techniques to ensure safety.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, and changes in condition accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and family members regarding patient status and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for patients and staff.
- Support the nursing team with wound care and other medical procedures as directed.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or currently enrolled in a state-approved CNA training program (for entry-level consideration).
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a high degree of empathy and patience.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards.
