Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring sterility and proper equipment setup
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Manage patient records using EHR systems with strict HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments and handle patient communications professionally
- Prepare and administer medications under physician supervision
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) within 6 months of hire
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Proficiency with electronic health records and office software
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
