Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify information, and escort them to examination rooms to ensure a smooth intake process.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administrative Support: Maintain patient charts, schedule appointments, and handle incoming calls and correspondence.
- Lab Work: Collect and prepare blood samples or other specimens for lab analysis as directed.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure examination rooms are cleaned, stocked, and sanitized between patient visits.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA) is a plus but not required for entry-level applicants.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical examinations.
