Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Transport patients to/from surgical suites and position them correctly
- Count and track surgical supplies before/during/after procedures
- Clean and restock operating rooms between surgeries
- Document procedural information accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- No prior surgical tech experience required
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4+ hours)
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic computer literacy for documentation systems
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Commitment to 6-week paid training program
