Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct telephone screenings to determine patient urgency using standardized protocols
- Priority Triage: Accurately categorize patients based on severity of symptoms using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) guidelines
- Resource Coordination: Facilitate seamless handoffs between patients, physicians, and ancillary departments
- Documentation: Maintain precise electronic medical records (EMR) of all patient interactions and triage decisions
- Crisis Management: Remain calm during high-pressure situations while providing clear communication to patients and families
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and hospital policies at all times
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with emergency department staff to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Education: Active RN license in the state of Arizona (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- Experience: No clinical experience required – new graduates welcome!
- Certifications: BLS certification (will be provided during training if not currently certified)
- Skills: Exceptional communication abilities and critical thinking skills
- Technology: Comfortable learning and using electronic medical record systems
- Attitude: Demonstrated empathy, patience, and ability to work under pressure
- Background: Clean criminal background check and drug screen (required)
