Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative treatments and oral surgery
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following OSHA protocols
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Manage patient flow, ensuring seamless transitions between appointments
- Implement infection control procedures and maintain sterile treatment areas
- Provide chairside assistance and patient education on oral hygiene
- Manage digital patient records using Dentrix/EagleSoft software
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Strong knowledge of dental instruments and procedures
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with digital imaging and practice management software
- Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced clinical environments
- North Carolina Dental Assistant Radiology license required
