Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient prioritization and care pathways
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate admissions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Support disaster response and surge capacity protocols
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted North Carolina RN license
- Minimum 2 years Emergency Department or critical care experience
- Advanced certification in Emergency Nursing (ENPC, TNCC) preferred
- Mastery of ESI triage methodology and clinical judgment skills
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation abilities
- EMR proficiency (EPIC experience highly valued)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
