Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental examinations and assist the dentist during procedures.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions as directed by the dentist.
- Perform chair-side assisting duties, including handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Manage patient records and update dental charts accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Greet patients, answer phones, and handle check-in/check-out procedures with a friendly demeanor.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent state certification required.
- Active Alaska Dental Assistant license in good standing.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient comfort and empathy.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency with dental software and digital radiography preferred.
