Responsibilities
- Review medical records and coding (ICD-10/CPT) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Submit claims to various insurance payers (BCBS, Aetna, Medicare, etc.) with high first-pass rates.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and appeal denials to maximize revenue.
- Manage patient accounts, post payments, and send out monthly statements.
- Communicate with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing inquiries.
- Reconcile monthly statements and ensure all financial records are up to date.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- CPC, CPB, or RHIT certification is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing and claims processing.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner).
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and privacy laws.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
