Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Verify patient identity and maintain confidential medical records (HIPAA compliance)
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
- Provide patient education on procedures and aftercare instructions
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in blood collection
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Flexibility to work between 20-32 hours weekly
- Successful background check and drug screening
