Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems following HIPAA protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient treatment plans
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Maintain detailed logs of patient interactions and follow-up communications
- Participate in continuous training for emergency protocols and new medical technologies
- Support emergency response procedures during critical incidents
Qualifications
- Active California RN license with minimum 2 years clinical experience
- BLS/ACLS certification and current BLS instructor credentials preferred
- Proven expertise in emergency room or urgent care triage protocols
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate anxious patients
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EMR documentation systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to cover variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Spanish bilingual skills highly desirable for diverse patient population
