Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Monitor and remind clients to take prescribed medications on time; report any side effects or missed doses to the supervisor immediately.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the client's dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Provide social interaction, conversation, and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
- Light Housekeeping: Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, or community outings as needed.
- Observation: Monitor the client's physical and emotional well-being and document any changes or concerns in the daily care log.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED: Minimum educational requirement.
- Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- CPR/First Aid Certification: Current certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), or CNA is preferred but not always required for entry-level applicants.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen actively.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Criminal Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
