Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any side effects or missed doses to the nursing supervisor.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, and accompany clients to appointments, social events, or outings to reduce loneliness.
- Meal Assistance: Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, vacuuming, and dishwashing to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in client behavior, physical condition, or mood to the family or medical team.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; CNA or HHA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or personal care is highly desirable.
- License: Valid driverβs license and reliable transportation required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; must be able to assist with mobility needs.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and patience when working with the elderly or disabled.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
