Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Companionship: Engage clients in meaningful conversations, hobbies, and social activities to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals tailored to the client's dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring they maintain a healthy diet.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment by performing light cleaning duties.
- Transportation: Drive clients to and from medical appointments, shopping centers, and social events using your own vehicle.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed by the nursing supervisor.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
- Licensure: Valid California Driverβs License and a clean driving record.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Compassion: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help elderly individuals.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods while assisting clients.
- Availability: Must be available for full-time shifts, including weekends and holidays.
